ReGrain

Lifetime care for your board

A dedicated restoration program that keeps your Board and Grain cutting boards smooth, balanced and ready for service year after year.

Why resurfacing matters

Every cutting board tells a story. Over time, heavy use leaves cuts, stains and uneven areas that trap moisture and affect performance. ReGrain restores your board to a smooth, food safe surface, extends its lifespan and keeps it working the way it should.

What is ReGrain

ReGrain is the lifetime care program for Board and Grain cutting boards. When daily use leaves knife marks, dry grain or wear, we restore each board by hand using precise sanding, careful leveling and a food safe oil and wax finish. The goal is simple. Protect your investment, maintain a reliable work surface and honor the material through restoration.

Starting thickness options

Every Board and Grain piece is built with substantial thickness to allow multiple restorations over its life. Choose the build that best matches how you cook and how often your board goes to work.

  • Heirloom: A 2 inch starting thickness designed for serious home cooks and professional kitchens. Offers maximum stability, weight and the greatest number of future ReGrain services.
  • Compact: A 1.5 inch starting thickness that is slightly lighter and easier to handle, ideal for smaller spaces or flexible layouts while remaining fully compatible with ReGrain.

Both builds are crafted for long term performance. The choice comes down to feel, footprint and how much restoration headroom you want over the life of the board.

Select your board

Choose any board from our premium lineup or request a custom piece tailored to your kitchen or service. Every board is built with the structure and thickness needed for future restoration through ReGrain.

Add ReGrain Lifetime Care at checkout. Enrollment connects your board to our maintenance program so you can schedule restoration whenever the surface begins to dull or show wear.

Step three
Ship, drop off or schedule pickup

When it is time for service, ship your board to our workshop, arrange a local drop off or schedule pickup where available. Each board is logged on arrival and evaluated before restoration begins.

Step four
Resurfacing and finishing

Each board is hand sanded and leveled through multiple fine grits to remove wear and restore a smooth, balanced surface. Edges and corners are refined by hand, then the board is conditioned with our food safe mineral oil and beeswax blend and allowed to rest.

Step five
Quality review and return

Every restored board is inspected for flatness, feel and finish consistency. Local orders are wrapped and prepared for collection or delivery. Shipped boards are securely boxed, tracked and returned with simple care guidance.

Ongoing care

Maintain your board between restorations with gentle washing, upright drying and occasional food grade mineral oil. For boards in steady use, a ReGrain service about once a year keeps the surface strong, smooth and ready to work.

Frequently asked questions

How often should I use ReGrain?

For home kitchens, most boards benefit from resurfacing about once a year. In restaurant or heavy prep environments, every 6 to 8 months keeps the surface clean, smooth and consistent.

What happens to my board during resurfacing?

Each board is hand sanded through multiple fine grits, leveled to remove cuts and uneven areas, then reconditioned with our food safe mineral oil and beeswax finish. It returns refreshed, smooth and ready for service.

Will my board lose thickness over time?
