Social
A refined, space-conscious presentation designed for intimate tastings, coffee rituals, and everyday entertaining.
01Purchase notes from customers who selected The Reserve for coffee rituals, tasting experiences, entertaining, and hospitality. A collection of perspectives across the Social and Summit sizes, along with custom configurations commissioned through the Board & Grain Concierge.
“It makes a simple coffee tasting feel like an occasion.”
I ordered the Social size for weekend espresso tastings at home, and it is exactly what I hoped it would be. It has enough presence to feel special without taking over the table. The wood grain is beautiful, the finish is very smooth, and the handles make it easy to carry from the kitchen to the dining room.
“The larger size was absolutely the right choice.”
I went back and forth between the two sizes and chose the Summit because we host often. The extra spacing makes the presentation feel more relaxed and less crowded, especially when using larger tasting glasses. It looks substantial on the table but still feels refined.
“They built it around the exact glasses we use.”
We needed a five-glass configuration for a small tasting room, and the standard spacing was not quite right for our vessels. The Concierge process was straightforward and thoughtful. We provided measurements, reviewed the layout, and received a finished piece that fits our glassware perfectly.
“Small enough for everyday use, beautiful enough to leave out.”
I use mine mostly for espresso and small cocktail tastings. The Social size fits nicely on our coffee bar and does not feel oversized. I leave it displayed between uses because the walnut looks more like decor than serving ware.
“It completely changed how we serve tasting flights.”
We used to bring out individual glasses on a tray, but this feels much more intentional. The Summit gives each glass enough room and makes the entire presentation look organized. Guests always ask where we found it.
“The custom spacing made all the difference.”
I wanted a flight specifically for stemmed dessert-wine glasses, so the standard dimensions were not going to work. The Board & Grain Concierge adjusted both the well diameter and the spacing. The final piece looks balanced and purpose-built rather than simply oversized.
“The craftsmanship is noticeable immediately.”
The first thing I noticed was how clean the wells and handle cutouts were. Everything feels precise, but not machine-made or sterile. The slight variation in the grain gives it warmth and makes the piece feel genuinely handmade.
“Substantial without feeling heavy or bulky.”
I wanted something with real table presence, but I did not want a thick rustic board. The Summit has a lower, cleaner profile and feels much more architectural. It is large enough to make an impact while still being comfortable to carry.
“A genuinely custom piece, not just a standard item made longer.”
We commissioned a six-well version for private events and needed the proportions to work with a narrow service counter. The layout was carefully adjusted so it still looked balanced. The finished flight feels cohesive and considered from end to end.
“One of the best gifts I have ever given.”
I bought the Social size as an anniversary gift for my husband because he enjoys whiskey tastings. He loved it immediately. It feels personal and useful, but also special enough that it did not feel like another ordinary bar accessory.
