Our Approach

Structure Without Distraction

Board & Grain shelving is designed around a simple principle: the structure should support the object without competing with it.

Substantial hardwood profiles and concealed mounting systems allow each shelf to read as a natural extension of the architecture, rather than an accessory placed onto the wall.

01 Solid Hardwood Selected for grain, depth and natural character.
02 Concealed Mounting Engineered to keep the visual line uninterrupted.
03 Made to Order Crafted individually rather than mass produced.
04 Custom Sizing Designed around rooms that require a specific proportion.

The Ledge

Architectural Floating Shelf

A substantial solid hardwood plane designed to project cleanly from the wall without visible support. The Ledge is available in six carefully considered lengths and custom configurations.

Profile 2-inch architectural thickness
Standard Depth 8 inches
Lengths Six standard sizes from 24 to 60 inches
Hardware Concealed steel mounting system included

Architectural Principles

Designed around what remains unseen.

Proportion, material and hidden structure work together to create a shelf that feels considered from every angle.

01

Proportion

Every length is scaled to create an intentional relationship with the wall, furniture and surrounding negative space.

02

Material

Solid hardwood gives the shelf visual depth, tactile character and the permanence of a true architectural object.

03

Structure

Concealed steel hardware creates strength without interrupting the clean horizontal line of the shelf.

The Standard Collection

Six lengths. One architectural language.

Each size carries the same substantial profile and concealed structure. The distinction is the role it plays within the room.

Concealed Engineering

Structure designed to disappear.

The steel mounting system becomes part of the shelf once installed, leaving the hardwood itself as the only visible architectural element.

Material

Material Defines the Object

Each shelf is handcrafted from carefully selected solid hardwood. Natural grain, tonal variation, sapwood and mineral character ensure that no two pieces are identical.

The collection is currently offered in American walnut, with future species designed to join the same architectural system over time.

01
Solid hardwood construction rather than veneer or hollow-core material.
02
Hand-finished to preserve the depth and movement of the natural grain.
03
Natural variation is expected and makes every finished shelf unique.

The Collection Is Growing

The Ledge is the first expression.

The Board & Grain shelving collection will continue to evolve through new hardwood species, proportions and architectural forms, all connected by the same principles of material, restraint and concealed structure.

Board & Grain Shelving

Designed to belong. Built to remain.

Shelving should not feel added after the room is complete. It should feel as though the architecture always intended it to be there.
